Are We All Created Equal ?

According to the declaration of independence, "...hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Are we all really created equal ?

Humans are supposed to be the most intelligent of all the species on earth. Then, why do we seem to go through life trying our best not to use logic or critical thinking in our daily decisions ? Are we becoming increasingly stupid or lazy ? Is it a national, cultural or racial issue ? What do you think ?
